Health, safety & environment
Every unsafe situation where it actually is, with an action, an owner and a verification. And a record that holds up.
Safety walks, workplace inspections, HSE audits: most organisations do them faithfully. The problem is rarely the walk itself, but what happens after it. The findings sit on a paper checklist or in a spreadsheet that differs per department, the photos are on someone's phone, and a month later nobody knows whether that missing guard has been put back.
PinPoint turns every finding into an item that gets followed up. The prevention advisor or HSE manager pins the unsafe situation on the floor plan or on a photo of the installation, fills in the safety checklist, sets the severity and assigns a corrective action to an owner with a deadline. The item stays open until someone verifies the action and closes it.
Why now?
A near miss that showed up on two safety walks but was never followed up is the hardest conversation a safety department can have. An item that only closes after verification makes that conversation unnecessary.
A walk is a bucket: this month's workplace inspection, the committee's annual walkthrough, an audit of a single department. In it you choose the zone, the hall or the installation.
Tap the spot on the plan or photo where the problem is. A blocked emergency exit, a leaking pipe, missing fall protection: every item sits where it belongs.
Your own questionnaire: category (unsafe condition, unsafe act, environment, ergonomics), severity, photos and a short description. Also without a network, in a basement or a plant room.
Every finding gets an owner, a deadline and a status. Open items carry over to the next walk until they are verified and closed.
Whoever reads your safety records, whether a labour inspector, an auditor or your own committee, asks the same questions every time.
Who and when. Every finding with the person who made it and the time, not the date the report was created.
Evidence. Photos attached to the finding itself, with the spot on the plan where the situation occurred.
Action and verification. Which action was taken, by whom, and who checked that it works.
Nothing overwritten. A corrected status stays visible as a correction, so the history is accurate.
The same records feed several files. These come up most often in HSE:
Your checklist, not ours
Every organisation has its own risks and its own vocabulary. You create your questionnaires in the portal yourself, and the report follows the layout your committee or auditor expects. More about reporting.
PinPoint is inspection software, not a certification and not a replacement for your prevention advisor. We record what is found and deliver it in a form that fits the files above. Whether your organisation meets a standard or the law depends on how you work and on the body that audits you.
An HSE inspection is a planned walk in which a prevention advisor, HSE manager or supervisor checks the workplace for risks to health, safety and the environment. Every finding gets a location, a severity, a corrective action and an owner, so it can be followed up until the action is verified. A safety walk is the shorter, often weekly version on the shop floor.
An inspection looks at the workplace: is this situation safe right now? An audit looks at the system: are the inspections done, and is anything done with the results? A well-kept inspection register is exactly what an auditor wants to see.
Yes. You create your own questionnaires in the portal, with your own categories and severity levels. It takes no technical knowledge. Besides answers you can ask for photos, sound, video or a signature per finding, and you adjust the checklist whenever your risks change, without touching the findings already recorded.
Yes. The app works offline on tablet and smartphone and syncs as soon as the connection is back. A walk in a basement, a plant room or on a site never depends on the network. You record findings, photos and answers as usual, and they reach the portal once the device is online again.
Every finding gets an owner, a deadline and a status. The item stays open until someone verifies the action and closes it, and the dashboard shows what is still open per zone or per walk. Each status change is kept with who made it and when, so the follow-up is traceable afterwards.
We will be honest with you. If PinPoint is not the right fit, we will tell you. No hard sell, no obligations. Just a conversation between people who understand inspections.
